Biography
J Hughes is a PhD candidate co-enrolled in the Book History & Print Culture collaborative specialization. They have special interests in artists' books, interdisciplinary collaboration, and experiential learning in the fields of art and literature. J holds an MA in English from the University of Maine Orono and an MA in the History of Art & Architecture from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. J’s roles at UofT have included BHPC Printing Fellow at Massey College, Northrop Frye Doctoral Fellow at Victoria College, Graduate Education Council member, and apprentice to master bookbinder Don Taylor. J also enjoys giving the occasional guest lecture on artists’ books, accompanied by a roller bag of their favourites.
