Biography
James Dunnigan received his BA Hons and MA from McGill University, where he worked under the supervision of Maggie Kilgour and Miranda Hickman. His dissertation analyzes Ezra Pound's reception of the Roman poet Ovid in "The Cantos." He is also more generally interested in epic poetry and the reception of Latin classics (Virgil and Ovid) across English literature. Adjacent interests include Canadian, French and American poetry, Milton, Anne Carson, gastronomy, astronomy, history and geopolitics. James writes poetry and edits for Cactus Press (Montreal) and Black Sails Publications (Toronto). His work has appeared in Event Magazine, CV2, HA&L, Maisonneuve Magazine, The Imagist and other publications across Canada.
