Biography

Robert (Robbie) Steele is a third-year PhD student in English and the Book History and Print Culture collaborative specialization. His research examines how the standardization of timekeeping over the nineteenth century affected embodied experiences of time and the representational and narrative strategies of the Victorian novel. He also has research interests in illustration-text dynamics in Victorian illustrated periodicals and the history of letterpress printing and wood engraving.

Robert is also a Junior Fellow at Massey College, where he has served as the Don of Hall and a BHPC Printing Fellow.
